Our Mission:
The South Florida Water Coalition seeks to find solutions that protect the health, safety, and supply of our water resources. By building partnerships among elected officials, utilities, businesses, and our residents, the SFWC is active in encouraging critical community-wide conversations about the many water issues that affect us, including the debate over Lake Okeechobee water levels, fighting toxic algae, preventing saltwater intrusion, raising awareness to sea level rise, and fighting to keep drinking water safe in local schools. As an active and visible community presence for these issues, the SFWC’s primary objectives are to:
Educate the general public on relevant water issues.
Advocate for the implantation of sensible and safe water policies.
Communicate water concerns among our elected officials, utilities, businesses, and residents.
From the state capitol in Tallahassee, to the doorsteps of our area’s residents, the South Florida Water Coalition has proven to be a successful advocate for the public’s best interest. Debate on our water issues are important conversations we need to have bring our communities together – not move our communities apart. In short, the science behind this precious common resource isn’t partisan – it’s simply fact. We encourage you to get in touch with us to help protect our water, and Florida’s future.
